Collaboration, hard work and a passion for the sea have made it possible for the Barcelona International Boat Show to reach this historical landmark of 50 editions.

The show brought together the biggest offering in the sector in Europe and helped to boost business for the sector. It also played its usual role as a forum for the sector to meet up, share concerns and find solutions.
This year the Boat Show was held at the same time as the Catalan Sailing Week for the first time, turning Barcelona into the sailing capital of Europe. Around 200 activities were organized for professionals and enthusiasts and the show was visited by 108,000 people.

The Barcelona City Council awarded the Gold Medal for Sporting Merit to the Boat Show in recognition of its work to promote the sector and internationalize the city.

The show featured the latest trends in a sector that is leaning towards more functional, more innovative and more environmentally-friendly sailing..

The Boat Show was founded in 1963 to promote the Spanish nautical industry and encourage people to get involved in sailing, later becoming the biggest commercial platform in the country with a great Mediterranean vocation and tremendous international exposure.

The Fira de Barcelona and the Spanish Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) will be setting up a committee to outline future editions of the show with a view to meeting the needs of exhibitors and visitors.
