2026 edition closes with more international brands and 20 Spanish boatbuilders
Barcelona International Boat Show consolidates its commitment to quality and international reach
The Barcelona International Boat Show closes this Sunday after one of its best editions in recent years, thanks to the high calibre of the brands and models on display and the expansion of its offering into new sectors and experiential areas. The show has thus consolidated its new direction, with its commitment to quality, the return of prestigious international brands and the strong presence of Spanish boatbuilders attracting thousands of visitors from Spain and abroad who are keen to purchase boats and discover the latest trends and innovations in the marine industry.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), the event, held from last Wednesday until today at Barcelona’s Port Vell, has reaffirmed its position as Spain’s leading boat show and a benchmark event in Europe, bringing together more than 226 boats of all sizes and 170 exhibitors representing over 300 brands. The high level of commercial activity during the show and the business contacts established, many of which are expected to lead to deals in the coming months, have resulted in widespread satisfaction among exhibitors.
The show’s revamped exhibition format has also attracted a particularly high-quality audience this year, with a clear interest in purchasing boats, equipment and accessories, as well as discovering the latest trends, innovations and experiences related to boating and watersports.
Over its five days, the event welcomed nearly 20,000 visitors, 35% of whom came from outside Catalonia. International visitors accounted for 15% of the total, mainly from France, Italy, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom. The show also attracted a significant number of buyers from Madrid, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, Andalusia and Galicia.
The show’s president, Luis Conde, said: “This edition confirms our commitment to strengthening business opportunities, the event’s international reach and its quality. We have taken a major step forward in every respect. The calibre of the brands, models and innovations on display, together with the profile of our visitors, places the Barcelona event among Europe’s leading boat shows and consolidates its position as a strategic platform for the industry.”
Top-tier offering
The 2026 edition has marked the return of high-end sailing yacht brands such as Oyster, Amel and YYachts after several years of absence. Their participation, together with the presence of leading British, Italian, French and German brands and groups such as Groupe Beneteau, Fountaine Pajot, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Excess, Mercury, Fjord, Bluegame, Sea Ray and X-Yachts, has further strengthened the show’s international appeal and high-quality positioning. Highlights included a world premiere, as well as the participation of ten models nominated for European Yacht of the Year.
The Spanish marine industry has also played a prominent role, with a total of 20 boatbuilders taking part (Amura, Nicolau, Auxinavy, Caral, De Antonio, Dipol, Elyd, Girbau, Kattum, Kumbra, Lasai, Lema, Level, Maxim, Nuva, Pantiera, Quer, Simbad, Sasga and Zephyr), showcasing the Spanish industry’s capabilities in innovation, design and boatbuilding.
New areas
The 2026 edition has also expanded its offering with several new areas. Under the SeaMotion concept, Moll de la Fusta debuted the Indoor Pavilion as one of this year’s major new features, with content focusing on marinas from across Spain, diving, watersports and the boating lifestyle.
Sustainable innovation also had its own dedicated space at the Innovation Dock, featuring fully electric boats and devices. The programme was rounded off with sea trials and experiences, as well as the professional Agora-Port sessions, coordinated by the Port of Barcelona and Barcelona Clúster Nàutic at Marina Port Vell.
This year’s edition was supported by CaixaBank, Occident, Denza, Araik Galstyan and Roche Bobois.
In 2027, the Barcelona International Boat Show will take place from 13 to 17 October at Port Vell in the Catalan capital.
