The Barcelona Boat Show changes course in 2025 with a wider and more exclusive offer

The Barcelona Boat Show will return to Barcelona’s Port Vell in October this year with a new event model that is committed to growing, offering a greater and higher quality offer, focusing on attracting large national and international buyers and improving their experience at the show. Thus, it will expand its range of boats including large boats and create new spaces and activities to reach new audiences and professionals.

The benchmark trade fair event for Spanish boating has presented its new Strategic Plan 2025-2028, which contemplates taking a leap forward to reposition itself internationally with the aim of positioning itself among the major European nautical events.

This new roadmap starts at the edition that will take place from October 8 to 12 in the Port Vell of Barcelona, when the leading event in Spain for sports and recreational boating, organized by Fira de Barcelona, with the collaboration of the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), will show its new version.

The president of the Boat Show, Luis Conde, points out “we change to be better, to grow, to raise the level of the event and to position Barcelona among the great European nautical events, without losing the spirit of an emblematic event for the sector and the city”.

For his part, the director of the event, Josep Antoni Llopart, assures that in this year’s edition “we are going to bring together the latest models from the big brands and create exclusive experiences and activities to attract large buyers and professionals with the aim of boosting sales and business in the sector”.

For the general director of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco, “there is no doubt that in order to attract today’s enthusiasts, the key is to show that sailing provides unique, personalized, sustainable and shared experiences. This is one of the great challenges of our sector and we are confident that the next edition of the Barcelona Boat Show will be an important ally in this journey”.

More boats, more lengths, more docks
Thus, the Boat Show will bring together the latest models from leading international brands and shipyards in the sector, with a wider range of models and lengths, ranging from the usual small and medium-sized boats to large lengths of more than 20 meters.

In this way, buyers will be able to access all types of sailboats, catamarans and yachts with the latest innovations in navigation, technology and sustainability on the market.

To host this great offer, the show aims to add the Barcelona dock, where large boats would moor, to the usual docks of La Fusta, Spain and part of Marina Port Vell, Thus, the 2025 edition of the Boat Show could present the largest offer in recent years with 200 boats in its floating exhibition, a linear extension of 2.2 kilometres and more than 12,000 m2 of commercial area.

To facilitate the visit to all areas of the show, a shuttle boat will connect the docks of Barcelona and Spain.

    Premium experiences for VIP buyers
With the intention of arousing the interest of new visitor profiles, this year’s edition of the show will have a hosted buyers programme, with which a total of 50 high-level international buyers will be invited, and will have a network of ambassadors, including large companies in the sector or yacht clubs, among others, to act as promoting agents of the show both nationally and internationally.

In addition, as a great novelty, the event will boost social and business contacts with a new 2,500 m2 village, which will be installed in the Portal de la Pau area of Port Vell and will offer a high-quality gastronomic experience.

In 2025, the Barcelona Boat Show will once again focus on sustainability and innovation as the main thematic axes, issues that will be addressed through an extensive programme of activities under the coordination of the Port of Barcelona.

In this sense, the Ship&Tips programme of practical talks on boat maintenance, the Blue Tech Summit of conferences on the blue economy and the Blue Tech Safaris, a series of routes to publicise the five most outstanding Barcelona projects in this field, stand out.

The Strategic Plan of the show also provides for the possibility of organizing a new event aimed at a family audience and those who want to get started in sailing and sea sports. At the moment, Fira de Barcelona is studying the format that will be aimed at a more general audience.
