Marinas de España and the Barcelona Boat Show Seal a Key Agreement to Expand National Reach and Connect with More Boat Owners

The Barcelona International Boat Show takes another step forward in its growth strategy. The event, organised by Fira de Barcelona, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Federation of Marinas and Tourist Ports (Marinas de España) to enhance the participation and visibility of marinas and yacht harbours at the 2026 edition, which will take place from October 14 to 18 at Port Vell in Barcelona.

The objective is clear: to strengthen the Show’s national presence and connect with more boat owners and users across Spain, positioning marinas as key players within the nautical ecosystem.

Marinas: A Strategic Gateway to the End User

The agreement highlights the strategic role of marinas within the nautical industry’s value chain — not only as essential infrastructure, but also as direct touchpoints for thousands of boat owners and users throughout Spain.

    This framework includes:

    • A targeted commercial push to increase the active participation of marinas and yacht harbours.
    • Joint promotional initiatives.
    • The role of Marinas de España as an official ambassador of the Barcelona Boat Show.
    • Promotion of both member and non-member marinas.
    • A shared commitment to bringing the event closer to a broader base of sailors and end users.

According to Tomás Azcárate, President of Marinas de España:

“This collaboration represents an important step forward in continuing to give visibility to marinas as key infrastructure within the nautical sector and marine tourism. The Show is an exceptional showcase to demonstrate the capacity, innovation and professionalism of our marinas.”

More Synergies, Broader Territory, Stronger Sector

From the Barcelona Boat Show management, Josep Antoni Llopart underlined the strategic dimension of the agreement:

“Marinas are a vital asset for the industry, and our event is the perfect platform to enhance their national and international projection and generate new synergies and business opportunities. It also reinforces the professional profile of the Show and allows us to engage more closely with a strategic segment of the Spanish nautical sector.”

Through this alliance, the Barcelona Boat Show expands its sector network and strengthens its ability to connect industry, infrastructure, services and end users within a single space.

A More Comprehensive Event Connected to the Real Market

Organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish National Marine Industry Association (ANEN), the leading nautical event in Spain continues to evolve, integrating all stakeholders — from shipyards and distributors to marinas and boating enthusiasts.

The 2026 edition will be held from October 14 to 18 at Port Vell in Barcelona, positioning itself as the key national meeting point for the industry and boat owners.
