A Regatta, Route du Rhum, the mother of all Transat routes

On 6 November, the 12th Route du Rhum will set off from Toulon (France), which has been held every four years since 1978. As in the 11 previous editions, the 3,543-mile course of the largest solo Transat of the year ends in Point-a-Pitre (Guadeloupe).

This year 138 sailors will take part in the six categories with boats starting from 39 feet in length: eight in ULTIM 32/23, eight in OCEAN FIFTY, 37 in IMOCA, 55 in Class 40, 16 in Rhum Multi and 14 in Rhum Mono.

A Museum. Maritime Museum of Barcelona, a safe haven for seafaring culture

An essential stop for lovers of the sea and those curious about history, the Maritime Museum of Barcelona offers a variety of exhibitions, some permanent and others temporary, that delve into ships and the seafaring world, both from original pieces, photographic exhibitions and other activities.

It is located in the reconstructed Drassanes building, near the statue of Columbus and close to the Moll de la Fusta. Open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, and on Sundays after 3 pm admission is free.

The solo, non-stop, round the world race, with vintage boats from 32 to 36 feet in length, started on 4 September in Les sables d’Olonne (France).

A regatta full of adventures over the course of its more than seven months’ duration, it is well-worth following through its website, where there is no lack of live tracking, news, images and audios of the participants.

The bag has a valve that allows the bag to be inflated to make it buoyant or to evacuate trapped air and reduce its volume, adjusting it to its contents. The closure system is sealed by rolling up the opening three times and closing it with a clip.

Strong and durable, it has a capacity of 30 litres with maximum dimensions of 68 cm and a diameter of 25 cm, weighing just weighs 680 grams.
